The 12U team bridges the gap between the Elementary School team and the Junior High team.
The 12U team transitions to a full size regulation lacrosse field and focuses on learning advanced ball handling skills and teamwork.
No previous lacrosse experience is necessary. Many girls begin at this level. Coaches will help players develop their lacrosse skills and prepare them for Junior High Lacrosse.
Below the shoulder STICK checking is allowed at the 12U level but BODY checking, as in all girls lacrosse is NOT allowed. "Boxing out" and contact while hustling for loose balls is most of the body contact involved at all levels of Women's Lacrosse.
The 12U team typically plays:
5-7 games each season
Beginning of the year tournament
Space City Shootout Tournament
End of the year City-Finals Tournament
